Supper Club ‘first’ for Guilden Morden?

The Cordon Turquoise Supper Club, launched on June 2^nd, is setting off with what is almost certainly a ‘first’ for Guilden Morden – a Serbian Supper – to be held on Saturday 22^nd July. 

Dates have now been fixed for a whole series of suppers to be held one Saturday every other month, probably each with a different theme.  

The basic idea behind the venture, sponsored by the Congregational Church. is to provide food, fun and friendship – with a chance to make a difference to the folk who may not be having so much food and fun.  Each evening will be dedicated to one or two charities (chosen in advance by those taking part) and the suppers will be organised by small teams.

It was newcomers to Guilden Morden, Janet and Pete Stojic, who volunteered to organise the first event – the Serbian Evening (with a little help from their friends, not to mention from Pete’s Serbian mother!).

The £5 tickets for each of the suppers will take the form of an envelope which those taking part can use to make their contribution to the chosen charities.   

Anyone interested in being involved with the Supper Club (and prepared to lend a hand with organisation and preparation) should get in touch with Colin or Val Price (01763 852883).  And Cordon Turquoise?     Well, what would you expect for a fiver, Cordon Bleu?     On the other hand you could be surprised: the food could well be fabulous.
