Guilden Morden Village Hall is operated as a charity to provide “a meeting place for village activities”. These include community and regular wellbeing activities such as parish meetings, pilates, yoga, fitness, WI etc.. The hall has a kitchen/refreshment preparation room and has changing/shower facilities for village sports clubs (e.g. football and cricket). It is hired out for private functions (e.g. children’s parties, family get-togethers, wedding receptions, wakes etc.) and can also used for fund-raising activities by village organisations (e.g. wine tasting, bingo etc.).
The Village Hall is located next to the Edward VII Public House in Fox Hill Road. The nearest postcode is SG8 0JF.
The hall can be decorated for special events such as the Cherub Cricket Club’s celebration of their 500th match; a party for young children, a bright blue party setting or on another occasion a group transformed the hall into a play barn.
“Thank you for being so helpful, what a fantastic venue – it had everything we needed”
The dimensions of the hall are 5.75m x 15.3m and further images can be found by Googling ‘Guilden Morden Village Hall’ then looking on the ‘Photos’ section which is brought up linked to the Google map/venue details. Note that only very small bouncy castles are permitted in the hall due to the beams which run across the hall, limiting use of high items/activities within the hall.
The day to day running of the hall is managed by the Village Hall Management Committee on behalf of the Parish Council. It is responsible for:
- Hire of the hall
- Day to day maintenance of the building and safety checks
- Ensuring the hall has the correct licences
- Management of income and expenditure
We currently have vacancies for a Chairperson and a Secretary
