** UPDATE 14/1/21 – Guilden Morden Village Hall currently remains closed in line with the latest COVID lockdown.
We will continue to comply with Government guidance and the Health Protection Regulations to ensure the hall is safe.
A page has been added to this website ‘Village Hall Documents‘ where you can find all the important reference material required for the safe meeting of your group when the restrictions are lifted. In the meantime please direct any questions or concerns you may have to .
Guilden Morden Village Hall is operated as a charity to provide “a meeting place for village activities”. These include community activities such as parish meetings, WI, pilates, yoga, bingo. As well as having kitchen/refreshment and changing/shower facilities for village sports clubs it is also used for fund-raising activities by village organisations and private functions.
The Village Hall is located next to the Edward VII Public House in Fox Hill Road.
The nearest postcode is SG8 0JF.
The hall can be decorated for special events and has some resources to help transform it into a special venue, such as the Cherub Cricket Club’s celebration of their 500th match and a party for young children, and a bright blue one with plenty of party food and another that transformed the hall into a play barn.
“Thank you for being so helpful, what a fantastic venue – it had everything we needed”
The day to day running of the hall is managed by the Village Hall Management Committee on behalf of the Parish Council. It is responsible for:
- Hire of the hall
- Maintenance of the building and safety checks
- Ensuring the hall has the correct licences
- Management of income and expenditure
Charity number 1056065
The Parish Council is responsible for any projects related to the design, fundraising and construction of a replacement Village Hall. The Parish Council should also be contacted for any activities which take place on the recreation ground.
