** UPDATE  22/12/21 **

From 10th Dec 2021 face coverings became mandatory in village halls therefore they must now be worn for all activities other than exercise, dancing or in some cases singing.  Please adhere to these new rules and read the briefing document via this link COVID 19 Briefing (16.12.21) .

COVID-19 is spreading fast and we are expecting new announcements in the new year but in the meantime it remains the hirers responsibility to do their own risk assessment and act in accordance with their findings.  The Village Hall Management Committee still strongly recommend that the approach taken and actions followed during Step 3 remain in place i.e. all doors/windows open; social distancing applies (stay 2m apart, maximum 2 in the kitchen, seated groups of 6 or 2 house holds) and wash your hands regularly.

Please direct any questions you have to .

Guilden Morden Village Hall is operated as a charity to provide “a meeting place for village activities”.  These include community activities such as parish meetings, WI, pilates, yoga, bingo.  As well as having kitchen/refreshment and changing/shower facilities for village sports clubs it is also used for fund-raising activities by village organisations and private functions.

The Village Hall is located next to the Edward VII Public House in Fox Hill Road.

The nearest postcode is SG8 0JF.

The hall can be decorated for special events and has some resources to help transform it into a special venue, such as the Cherub Cricket Club’s celebration of their 500th match and a party for young children, and a bright blue one with plenty of party food and another that transformed the hall into a play barn.

“Thank you for being so helpful, what a fantastic venue – it had everything we needed”

The day to day running of the hall is managed by the Village Hall Management Committee on behalf of the Parish Council.  It is responsible for:

  • Hire of the hall
  • Maintenance of the building and safety checks
  • Ensuring the hall has the correct licences
  • Management of income and expenditure

Charity number 1056065

The Parish Council is responsible for any projects related to the design, fundraising and construction of a replacement Village Hall.  The Parish Council should also be contacted for any activities which take place on the recreation ground.
